Ancona Sports Center, the litmus test for Tiong: only one signature missing

The project

A path inaugurated by the arrival in the city in April 2022 with the first meetings in the rooms of Palazzo del Popolo with the representatives of the now former municipal administration (in particular with Valeria Mancinelli and Andrea Guidotti, respectively former mayor and councilor for sport). Sports center as the central point of its program such as to surpass, in the scale of values ​​of recent years, even the creation of a team that could immediately aspire to promotion to Serie B. For all these reasons, after the infinite vicissitudes regarding the signing for the purchase of the land (seven and a half hectares) adjacent to the Del Conero, the success of the operation becomes fundamental. From every point of view: project, structures, credibility.

The infinite postponements

To complete the operation, on a technical level, a signature is missing. Exactly the one on the notarial deed to complete the acquisition of the land for the value of 1,214,000 euros less the deposit already held by the company Ancona Sports Center Srl – established by the sole shareholder The Dream Srl, participated by the president of Ancona Tony Tiong paid. The Board of Directors of Ancona Sports Center Srl includes the CEO Roberta Nocelli and the club’s accountant Piergiorgio Ripa (brother of Roberto, supervisor of the technical area). From now until June 30, as per the commitment made personally through certified e-mail, Tiong is expected by the Doric mayor Daniele Silvetti after the previous postponements which took place between January and March. Various, and sometimes difficult to understand, are the reasons that have given rise to more than one discontent among the fans regarding a de facto closing, already impeccably prepared in the preliminary phases by both the Us Ancona side and the Municipality side (current and previous). The last theme song was postponed first for the president’s work reasons, then for the Chinese New Year and finally for family reasons. Tiong and the mayor, in contact with each other, then agreed on the deadline of 30 June. With “salvation acquired” even though the patron himself had announced in a press release his intention to continue in any case. Now we need the facts, without further delay.

The plant engineering at the centre

In addition to the Ancona Sports Center, compared to the past, the situation of the systems available to the red and white colors has certainly improved. Fortunately, the endless pilgrimages to find a field to train are a memory. And not that long ago either. Among the facilities available, we must mention, first of all, the Del Conero. The Passo Varano stadium has been renovated in many of its aspects and is still the subject of various improvements. Then the Dorico, almost completed and ready for inauguration, destined to increasingly become the home of youth teams. Again: the Paolinelli Federal Centre, home to the first team’s training sessions in recent seasons. Lastly, the Sorrentino in Collemarino, another location that hosts the national teams. Solid foundations to rest on. And that’s no small thing.
