PORDENONE – The control room, above all else, is that of Pordenone Prefecture. Coordination in the field is multiple: all law enforcement agencies are involved. Police, carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza and local police commands such as that of Pordenone, which has the “privilege” of also having a dog unit. The objective, however, is only one: to combat the use and dealing of narcotic substances, with greater attention towards school contexts and young and very young people. And from November to today the results can be seen: the various operations carried out in the area have in fact made it possible to remove 20 kilos of drugs from the streets.

THE BUDGET
The numbers were provided during the presentation of a collaboration between the local police forces of Pordenone and Spilimbergo. A pilot pact whose agenda is precisely the fight against the use and dealing of drugs and which provides for the use of the anti-drug dog supplied to the local police of the provincial capital. We start from the most important detail, that is, the overall one: from November to today, according to the data in the possession of the Pordenone Prefecture, twenty kilos of narcotic substances have been seized in the area. Specifically, seven kilos were traced and removed from the streets by the local police of Pordenone, led by commander Maurizio Zorzetto. The other 13 kilos seized in the area are linked to joint operations which saw all the police forces in the province of Pordenone on the front line.

THE DETAILS
State Police, Guardia di Finanza, Carabinieri and local police of Pordenone seized the most classic types of so-called soft drugs, i.e. hashish and marijuana, but also decidedly more dangerous substances, such as cocaine, MDMA and ketamine. The local police of Pordenone, then, from November to today have carried out two arrests in the city area. In total, however, twenty subjects were reported as drug users and 15 services were carried out for other police forces or local police forces in the area.
«Having created a special unit such as the dog unit certainly gives an edge to our local police – said the municipal councilor for security of Pordenone, Elena Ceolin – I must say that this far-sighted investment wanted by the mayor Alessandro and Ciriani, who started with the Honorable Emanuele Loperfido, see me as the “lucky” councilor who can use this precious resource to serve not only the city, but an entire territory. Thanks to Commander Zorzetto who had the ability to structure the service with the local police command. Thanks to the handler and co-handler of Agent K (the anti-drug dog), because if it is true that there are many satisfactions it is also true that there are many hours of training, that the refresher courses must continue and that there they are timetable. Last year, the Ciriani administration invested around 4 and a half million in the security sector.”
