LEGNAGO – In the thirty-seventh matchday of Serie C group A, Alessandria Calcio won a point on the Legnago Salus pitch. Mister Jonatan Binotto’s team, on their last away match of the season, played a good first half, coming close to scoring on several occasions. In the second half the hosts regained courage and looked towards Farroni more often, but the Grays didn’t stand by and watched: at the end of the match there were two woodblocks on each side.

Before the kick-off, the touching memory of Mattia Giani, a footballer who tragically passed away a few days ago and brother of the Venetian striker Elia Giani, to whom Alessandria expressed its closeness with a press note and a bouquet of flowers delivered by Captain Ciancio to the hosts.

THE MATCH

Mister Binotto relies on the attacking duo Samele-Busatto, supported by Mastalli. Soler is at the center of the defense in place of the injured Rota, while Sepe, Nichetti and Pellitteri are confirmed in midfield.

The first half of the game saw more opportunities for the Grays: Samele missed the target, while Sepe and Mastalli found the response from an attentive Fortin. The hosts try to raise the center of gravity, but are unable to make themselves truly dangerous in Farroni’s area. In the 36th minute Alessandria came close to scoring again: Busatto’s shot hit the crossbar and was then deflected by Ruggeri, at the edge of the goal line. According to the referee, the ball did not completely cross the white line, so after the first 45 minutes the match ended 0-0.

At the beginning of the second half, Legnago built their first real scoring move with Baraji, whose conclusion hit the post. After another great chance by coach Donati’s team, thwarted by Farroni, Alessandria takes the lead again in the woodwork: Busatto tries again, with Fortin managing to deflect the shot onto the post. In the final it was Legnago who came closer to scoring with greater consistency: Mbakogu, who came on during the second half, and Ruggeri were not lucky, Baraji was even less so, hitting his second post of the day. In injury time the score remained tied.
