Vivicittà in Livorno breaks through the barrier of 500 participants

The charge of 500, or rather of 518 to be precise. The Vivicittà 2024 it was a truly exceptional edition. The anniversary of 40 years of the running event organized throughout Italy by Uisp was celebrated in the best possible way in Livorno. The race organized by Etruscan-Labroniche Lands Committee of the Uisp together with Amaranth Athleticswith the patronage of Municipality of Livorno and of the Port System Authority of the Northern Tyrrhenian Seasaw 518 male and female athletes at the start, with 458 taking part in the competitive 10 km and 60 competing on the non-competitive 5 km route.

«But it is not just the numbers that testify to the success of Vivicittà 2024 – he commented the president of the Etruscan-Labroniche Lands Committee of the Uisp Daniele Bartolozzi – What made this day even more spectacular was the practically perfect weather that accompanied all the participants from the first to the last meter and a public that supported the male and female athletes committed to giving their all along the streets of Livorn right from the start. We perceived the enthusiasm of all those present, who on several occasions wanted to convey thanks for the proposed day and the organization put in place by all the UISP managers and by the affiliated company of Atletica Amaranto, which raised its voice by bringing 97 runners at the finish line. But the applause obviously also goes to all the other companies that contributed to making the 39th edition of Vivicittà something that it will remain for a long time in the minds and hearts of those who experienced it firsthand».

As regards the race, also valid as a stage of the Tuscan Running Criterium and the Etruscan Valleys Running Tour, the first to cross the finish line was Ayoub Bouras (GS Maiano), who completed the 10 km in 30’32”. Bouras preceded Domenico Passuello (ASD Gruppo Sportivo Lucchese), who had to settle for this honorable placing after last year’s victory. He thought about completing the podium Andi Dibra (GP Parco Alpi Apuane). Among women, however, it was the winner Laura Pardini (ASD Atletica Amaranto), who closed her race in 39’37”, just 10 seconds faster than the second place Anita Ghelardoni (Atl. Libertas Unicusano Livorno). Third place went to Elena Konstantos (Sempredicorsa Asd). The day of Vivicittà 2024 then ended with the usual awards ceremony. Among the most touching and emotional moments was the delivery of the plaque in memory of Nicola Valtriani from the Valtriani family to the youngest boy and girl competing.
