“This place is important, the Salone Estense, where many events take place, as well as being the hall of the city council, during which decisions are made for the city and for the future – explained the Mayor of Varese Davide Galimberti – After the war the enlightened people who administered the city decided to establish this prize which you are going to receive. And they did it together with the many other things that needed to be done after a war, to give a future back to the people who lived here. It was an important step to establish this award which does not aim to reward the best or the best student, but aims to ensure that within the schools boys and girls were identified who spread the values on which our State and the our community are founded. With this award we entrust to you boys and girls this re-edition of the award with the same values as the first time it was established after the war”.

They were rewarded 88 students and students from the third, fourth and fifth classes of primary schools in Varese.

“On April 25th we celebrate democracy, freedom and the constitution – stated the Councilor for Educational Services Rossella Dimaggio – This award was established so that these values continue over time through the school. So I ask the young citizens who are here today to be an example for their classmates and friends.”

The award ceremony was accompanied by Sax Quartet of the Varese Music High School. The deputy mayor was also present Ivana Perusin, the president of the municipal council Alberto Coen Prosini, the city councilors Giuslia Mazzietlli And Alessandro Pepe and the mayors of Lozza and Brinzio.
