Election headquarters in Corso Mazzini packed for Marco Giangrandi, the candidate for mayor of the ‘third pole’ civic who presented the 32 candidates of the Cesena Sì Noi civic list on Saturday morning. He is supported by city councilor Denis Parise, a critical voice towards the Lattuca administration: “We have many doubts – said Parise – about how the housing emergency is managed and about the continuous overbuilding, as demonstrated by the subdivision of 13 hectares in the area Montefiore. The city needs something alternative.” A list that is presented as heterogeneous and authentically civic made up of 19 men and 13 women. “A transversal list, in which civicness is the fundamental aspect”. CSN activist Mario Picone underlined that “this municipal administration has debased the role of neighborhoods forced to only do ‘homework’. Out of 12 neighborhood pacts – said Picone – only three have been implemented”.

Then mayoral candidate Marco Giangrandi took the floor: “CSN is full of candidates, the mayor spoke of lists studied in laboratories, a term used by the mayor which I consider to be low profile. There are only laboratories of people, and this is a beautiful laboratory, indeed a magnet for people who want to participate. It is an Eden, because doing politics means making many sacrifices.”
“Cesena We Are – continued Giangrandi – remains a very strong list on environmental issues, we have proposed the planting of 150 thousand trees and they told us that it is something unattainable. But we are not here to do the homework of 6 – but for complex projects that will be completed in 30 years.”
On the coalition with Cambiamo and Italia Viva: “It was not a simple step, but I underline that we are not a single party, we are three movements with differences which are however capable of finding a compromise. I am not sure that this will happen in the coalition center-left between Pd, M5s and Pri”.
Among the candidates there is also Beppe Rotelle to advance the rights of disabled people, he is a familiar presence in the historic center. “I am applying with CSN because they have always listened to me and have never treated me like a disabled person. In this city there is a big problem regarding toilets for disabled people. The headquarters of Marco Giangrandi, mayor, is the only one that has the ramp that allows disabled access”.
The third civic pole has as its main objective getting to the ballot, these are Giangrandi’s impressions: “We are the loose cannon, it makes no sense to add up the three political movements, it would reach 25%. We come from the civic world and we think in different way from politicians, we are not only interested in the result. It’s a complicated challenge but we try, they could have stayed sitting on the sofa. In my life, even in football, I have never played to lose ‘It was an escape from Cesena. Sia Noi, but this is false, ours is an open movement and even people who were far from political commitment had entered.’
