The citizens of Marsala will still have some time to present their observations on the city’s new Landscape Plan.

This was communicated by the municipal administration following a meeting held in recent days in Palermo with the president of the municipal council Enzo Sturiano, the manager of the municipality’s Territory and Environment Sector and the regional leaders of the Departments of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian identities and to Urban Planning. Also present was the regional deputy Stefano Pellegrino, promoter of the meeting.

“Following the meeting – states President Sturiano – we obtained the possibility of being able to make new observations on the adopted plan. This openness is certainly a positive result that can lead to better consultation even with citizens who have been waiting for years to be able to make their proposals. For this reason I would like to thank the Honorable Stefano Pellegrino, a point of reference for our City in the Region, for his interest. I have informed the mayor Massimo Grillo of the situation and already next week the manager Mezzapelle will issue the notice asking citizens to formulate their observations regarding this important urban planning instrument”.

The landscape plan which, according to the law, is preparatory to the approval of the new general master plan, the RNO dello Stagnone plan and other regulations and plans of an urban nature, with its areas of protection (1, 2 and 3) poses restrictions on different areas of the entire Marsala area. In particular, in zones 2 and 3 construction activity could be more limited. Hence the need for some changes.
