GENOA – A teacher from a private kindergarten in Valbisagno in Genoa is under investigation for abuse of educational resources, private violence and threats. According to the prosecutor’s office, the 46-year-old woman mistreated a two-year-old, almost three-year-old girl because she was crying and didn’t want to take a nap.

The story dates back to February. A colleague reported her who first reported the episode to the school management and then to the police. She told the investigators that that day her colleague had two classes to manage and she would have lost patience with the child who continued to cry. He allegedly threatened to lock her in a closet and then forced her to stay in the cot.

The school management started an internal investigation and then fired the woman who, in case of dismissal, will be able to ask for reinstatement. The teacher, assisted by the lawyer Barbara Barbanera, received the notice of the conclusions of the investigation from the public prosecutor Alberto Landolfi and in the next few days she will be questioned to explain her version of events.
