CASTELLAMONTE. The third book of the Circolo del Calamaio, a writing group born in Ivrea in 2018, in the wake of the training courses on autobiography held at the University Center of Ivrea, will be presented on Friday 3rd at 9pm at the Martinetti conference center in Castellamonte. by professor Duccio Demetrio, founder of the Free University of the Autobiography of Anghiari (Lua). For some years, Lua has been organizing the One cherry leads to another competition, to collect stories of towns, villages and local literature. As in the previous year, also in 2023 the Circolo del Inkwell participated in the competition, obtaining various awards: 3rd prize to Agnese Molinario and three honorable mentions to Cristina Capello, Giuliana Reano and Elena Zumaglino. The stories sent to the 2023 competition and others that were added subsequently make up this new publication, published by Pedrini, enriched by the preface by Mariangela Giusti, associate professor of Pedagogy at the University of Milan-Bicocca and collaborator of Lua.

These are the authors of the stories: Lara Fresc, Silvia Alberton, Alberto Arnaudo, G. Tiziana Battaglia, Claudia Maria Celeste Bertoldo, Barbara Broglio, Cristina Capello Marcella, Claudio Chirivì, Fabrizia and Franco Cogo, Marilena Corato, Marco Florio, Maria Grazia Martin, Agnese Molinaro, Daniela Bruna Negro, Catia Pernigotto, Giuliana Reano, Ezio Zucca Pol and Elena Zumaglino. As the presentation takes place in the Canavese capital of ceramics, particular emphasis will be given to the two stories centered on Castellamonte: A piece of childhood at Case Fanfani, by Giuliana Reano, and Canton Senti, by Ezio Zucca Pol. A ceramist, Mara Tonso, will be present. who will present his works inspired by Haiku, connecting to the haiku of the poetess of the Circolo del Calamaio, Lara Fresc which open the book The suitcase of memories. «I am very happy – comments Giuliana Reano – with this new experience which allows us to continue the comparison, started a few years ago, with a very lively cultural world that is well present in the Canavese area». An interesting book, in which, as highlighted by Giusti in the preface: «Writing is also understood as a form of gratitude, of rethinking and restitution. A wise gratitude, however, which does not arise by chance, but which finds its origins in the training courses in autobiographical thought followed over the years and in the constant frequenting of autobiographical writing”.
