ΠATIR, between the Mediterranean, culture and exchanges

From 26 to 28 April in Corigliano-Rossano the 3rd EDITION of “ΠATIR” will be held, the cultural action planned and started in 2022 by the Rossano Purpurea Association and institutionalized by the City since last year as it is recognized as a high moment of culture and planning for our Community, in which, as the subtitle that accompanies the event says, Heritage, Visions and Community are the three focuses around which numerous and highly qualified professionals have been called together to animate a lively and constructive.
From 26 to 28 April, many moments will enliven the city of CO-RO through a series of events enriched by the cultural, creative and active contribution of numerous local associations and entities, partners of the initiative.

The scheduled days will be hosted, alternately, in two of the symbolic settings of the city, such as the Palazzo delle Culture San Bernardino and the Basilian monastic complex of Santa Maria del Patire, a symbolic place of the united city, to then move, on Sunday 28th, to the Schiavonea seafront, cross the Scalo di Corigliano and pass by the Ducal Castle, for the cycling event organized last year by the cycling associations of the Ionian arc.
The event, which has this year’s theme “Mediterranean: cultures, exchanges, imaginaries”, was born from a constant and rich comparison between the Rossano Purpurea Association and the Municipality of Corigliano Rossano, with the support of external consultants, and sees the precious collaboration of the Ministry of Culture and the archaeological park of Sibari, as well as of the Carabinieri Biodiversity Group, managing body of the Patire complex.

Since the first edition, and increasingly in this third year, Patir has also been a precious opportunity to promote, spread and grow UNESCO culture in our city. Many figures from the UNESCO world were involved, both in discussions with young people and schools and in sessions related to cultural heritage. In particular, the Municipality invited all the subjects involved in the tentative lists on the testimonies of Italian-Greek culture between the high and late Middle Ages, in a panel created and conducted by the expert in valorisation of cultural heritage and UNESCO nominations Patrizia Nardi.
History, cultural heritage, art, tourism, schools, quality of life, sport, music, teenagers, children, associations and experts all together will color the city of CORIGLIANO-ROSSANO with great beauty and will represent a beautiful moment of growth for our entire community .

The program in detail will be presented on Monday 22 April, 11 am, in the hall in Piazza Santi Anargiri, in the presence of the mayor Flavio Stasi, the councilor for culture, Alessia Alboresi and Alessandra Mazzei, president of the Rossano Purpurea Association
