Last trip of the season for GesanCom Marsala Volley which on Saturday 4 May in Puglia, for the twenty-fifth and penultimate day of the B1 women’s volleyball championship in group E, will face the local Zero5 Castellana Grotte of Coach Massimiliano Ciliberti.
A team, the one from Puglia, which will certainly want to make up for the defeat suffered in the first leg match in Marsala by 3-0 and which in its own PalaGrotte will try to beat the Lilibetans without the worry of the result which nothing will change their ranking in case of victory or of defeat. A challenge which for captain Varaldo and his teammates, after the bitter disappointments away to Teramo and at home against Fasano, which resulted in the abandonment of the play-off objective, will have a high emotional value, especially with regards to the ability to concentrate in the phases of the game so as not to lose that temperament that leads to victory, a lost element, especially in the away matches of this second part of the championship. A match whose stakes will be important for the girls directed by Coach Campisi who also risk fifth place in the standings given that just one point away the Amando Volley of Santa Teresa Riva awaits a misstep from the Marsala team in order to overtake them in classification.
“It will definitely be a tough match – declares Coach Ciccio Campisi – unlike us they are in a good moment given that they have won the last few matches. We worked hard during the week and in Castellana Grotte we will try to finish the season with a smile.”
“Even if we will not participate in the Promotion Play Offs, I am convinced that this has been a positive season,” declares Vice President Maurizio Falco. I also understand that our fans are anxiously awaiting promotion to A2, the club will start again from this seasonal experience to shore up the roster so that it aims to move up the category.”
