SALENTO – “Hunt” for the Postamat gang also with the special departments of the Carabinieri.
After the recent explosive episodes against the Postamats of Castrignano del Capo and Tricase which occurred in recent days, the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Lecce has set up tight control services in the lower Salento area, also making use of highly specialized departments for the search for the perpetrators.
In fact, since the early hours of yesterday morning, control and surveillance measures have been put in place across the entire territory, paying particular attention to the main road arteries and access points of the Salento municipalities. The most inaccessible and rural areas were combed by the “Heliported Hunters Squadron of Puglia”, the specialized unit of the Carabinieri, in search of traces that could lead to the identification of those responsible and any other devices.
The Carabinieri Cacciatori di Puglia have concentrated their activity in the wooded areas and rural areas where it is easier to find refuge, extending the roundups from the Ionian side to the Adriatic side. For the most inaccessible areas they also made use of highly technological means to inspect them in order to identify any hiding places.
The investigative activity is still ongoing, in the meantime the police forces, in synergy with each other, are working to guarantee maximum safety for the population.
