Sicily, on April 25th you can enter museums and parks in the region for free

On this date it will be possible to access without paying the ticket, not only to the museums, but also to the 14 archaeological parks in Sicily.

Museums open and free in Sicily not only on the first Sunday of each month, but also on Thursday 25 April, on the occasion of Liberation Day.

As proposed by the Ministry of Culture, the initiative aims to make the artistic and archaeological heritage accessible to all Sicilian citizens, as well as an opportunity to keep alive the memory of highly symbolic facts and events for the whole country.

Free entry also on 2 June and 4 November on the occasion of Italian Republic Day and National Unity and Armed Forces Day respectively.

The visits will take place during the usual opening hours, which can be consulted on the websites, with access by reservation where applicable.

Museums and archaeological parks in Sicily with free entry

On the same dates it will also be possible to access the 14 archaeological parks in Sicily for free:

– “Valley of the Temples” in Agrigento;

– “Segesta”, “Selinunte, Cave di Cusa and Pantelleria” and “Lilibeo-Marsala” in the Trapani area;

– “Naxos and Taormina”, the park of the Aeolian Islands which extends between Lipari, Panarea, Filicudi and Salina, and “Tindari” in the Messina area;

– “Syracuse, Eloro, Villa del Tellaro and Akrai” and “Leontinoi and Megara” in the Syracuse area;

– “Catania and the Aci Valley”;

– “Morgantina and Villa Romana del Casale” in the Ennese area;

– “Himera, Solunto and Iato” in the Palermo area;

– “Kamarina and Cava D’Ispica” in the Ragusa area;

– archaeological park of Gela nel Nisseno.

You will not pay the entrance fee even in other regional cultural placesfrom the Gallery of Palazzo Abatellis to the archaeological museum “Antonio Salinas” and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Palermo, passing from the museum of Trapani “Agostino Pepoli” up to the Gallery of Palazzo Bellomo in Syracuse and the interdisciplinary museum of Messina.
