The Italian-British Cultural Association of Ravenna is organizing a public meeting with Antonio Caprarica for Saturday 4 May at 6.00 pm at the Sala Pier Paolo D’Attorre of Casa Melandri in Via Ponte Marino 2 Ravenna.
Caprarica, the greatest Italian expert on the stories and characters of the Windsor family, the most popular royal family in the world, will talk to us about his latest work “Charles III – The destiny of the crown” published by Sperling and Kupfer, published on the occasion of the coronation of Charles III. The journalist will show us a king with two faces: between cult of the past and foresight on the environment, life among luxuries and attention to the weakest, the determination of a man who obtained the “happy ending” by ascending to the throne alongside his lover after having cheated on a beautiful and noble wife and now a man fighting against illness.
Over the decades of waiting that made him the “heir of records”, Charles has been called many things: “Rebel Prince”, “Graduate Prince”, “Meddlesome Prince”, “poor Charles”.
Loved and hated by the press and subjects in alternating phases, between peaks of extraordinary popularity and depths of hostility and discredit, it certainly cannot be said that his path as a prince was linear and free of obstacles.
