Cocaine dealing in the bar. Arrested by the police

The bar had become a center for cocaine dealing. On this charge, a 37-year-old of foreign origin resident in Imola, manager of a restaurant outside the centre, was arrested by the police. Over 90 grams of cocaine and 2100 euros in banknotes were seized by the police. A dog unit from the Bologna police station was also used in the intervention, with the arrested drug-sniffing dog Barack.

The pressure from the police continues on the drug market in the city, already the subject of numerous operations in recent months. For some time the police had been putting the place managed by the man under scrutiny. The investigators had noticed that while the man was present in the club the clientele increased. And they were convinced that it wasn’t just because of his skill.

On Thursday the man was stopped in Piratello while he was driving his car. A search was carried out which allowed the officers to find 6 small heat-sealed wrappers inside a coffee pod wrapper: inside there was a total of 8.63 grams of cocaine. The man also had with him 630 euros in cash of various denominations.

At that point the police decided to search his place too. Another 84 grams of white powder, almost certainly cocaine, and an envelope with 1,500 euros in 50 euro banknotes turned up inside a ceiling light, in a refrigerator in the basement of the back room. The police also found a precision scale and cellophane of the type used to package the doses. Everything was seized, while the man was subjected to the precautionary measure of having to sign.

The possible temporary closure of the restaurant is also being examined by the police commissioner of Bologna.
