Robs passenger on train between Trani and Bisceglie: Lebanese fugitive arrested
Descriptive text here

A call to the emergency number 112 from a 64-year-old from the province of Milan, a passenger on the Intercity night train, meant that a fugitive was arrested by the police, who immediately arrived at Bisceglie station to help the elderly man.

Here ended the escape of Rachid Michel, a fugitive of Lebanese origins, with precedents for theft, robbery, personal injury and resistance to a public official, who after being released from prison in Vibo Valentia with the obligation to reside in the municipality, had caused him to lose his own tracks.

The captured man, after attempting to steal the elderly man’s phone on the train, was tracked down by the police, who after carrying out further investigations as he did not have identity documents, arrested him as the recipient of a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the Court of Appeal of Bari and subsequent fugitive decree.

Thanks to the timely intervention of the Bisceglie Tenenza Carabinieri patrol and the operator of the 112 Operations Centre, the man considered a public danger was taken to the Bari prison where he will serve the sentence for the crimes committed.
