Roads closed in Varese for EcoRun: how traffic conditions will change on Sunday 21 April

VARESE – The weekend of begins today, Saturday 20 April EcoRun 2024which will see its highlight tomorrow, Sunday 21st, with the city center closing to traffic in the morning in the streets affected by the routes. To help the event, which combines sport, solidarity and sustainability, take place safely, some are planned changes to traffic.

Roads closed

From 9am on Saturday 20 April to 8pm on Sunday 21 April the transit ban will be active Piazza Monte Grappa and Piazza Ragazzi del 99. From 8am to 12pm on Sunday the ban will be in via Sant’Antonio, piazza della Motta, via Francesco d’Assisi and via Bernascone. From 6am to 8pm on Sunday via Volta, Corso Moro, Via Marcobi and Piazza Monte Grappa will be closed to traffic. On Sunday 21st there will be the temporary ban on transit for athletes in the streets affected by the race routes and in correspondence with the intersections, from 8 to 12. The via Magenta will be affected, in the stretch between via Piave and via Medaglie D’Oro, via Manzoni, piazza Repubblica in the stretch between via Medaglie D’Oro and via Mazzini, via Spinelli, via Avegno, via Cavour, via Rainoldi, via Luini, largo Resistenza, via Donizetti, via Speroni, via dei Bersaglieri, piazza Giovine Italia, via Rossini, via Como, via Puccini, via Bagaini, via Volta, via Foscolo, via Mazzini, via Robbioni, via Indipendenza, via Verdi, via Copelli, via Sant’Antonio, via Ariberto, via Monastero Vecchio, the stretch from viale Ariberto to piazza Libertà, piazza Libertà, via XXV Aprile, via Sanvito Silvestro, via Proserpio, via Oldofredi, via Monguelfo, via Caracciolo, via Astico, via Saffi, via Bolchini, via Crispi, piazza Giovanni XXIII, via Speri della Chiesa, via Hermada, via Morandi, via Manin, viale Aguggiari in the direction of travel from Sant’Ambrogio to Varese centre, via Vetera, via Carrobbio, largo Sogno.

Competitions and events

They will be four races who will liven up the event. There will be two competitive ones, the 21 km half marathon and the 10 km (Fidal national races), and two non-competitive ones, 10 and 5 km. Online registrations have already closed, but it is still possible to register for the races directly at the infopoint at the Chamber of Commerce in Piazza Monte Grappa, with these times: Saturday 20 April from 2pm to 7pm, Sunday 21 April from 7am to 15 minutes before departure. On Sunday the races will take place alongside each other numerous collateral activities between sport and culture (here is the complete programme). And in the center there will also be the Lions Day.
