Change at the top of the management of the “San Giovanni Battista” hospital in Foligno. After two years and three months of management, a good part of which was aimed at overcoming the pandemic emergency, Dr. Mauro Zampolini left the position of director of the hospital to return to the role of director of the company’s rehabilitation and director of the complex neurology structure of the hospital.
Dr. Orietta Rossi will succeed him as director of the Foligno hospital, coming from a similar management position held at the “San Matteo degli Infermi” hospital in Spoleto, during the critical period of the Covid-19 emergency.
The handover took place on Friday 19th in the presence of a large representation of professionals and managers of the hospital departments.
Dr. Zampolini expressed deep gratitude for having had the opportunity to lead the Foligno hospital.
“In the most acute phase of the pandemic – he recalled, according to what Local Health Authority 2 reports – the medical, health professions, technical and administrative staff stood out for their spirit of self-sacrifice, courage and dedication in facing the enormous critical issues imposed by the virus Thanks to the efforts of the operators, our hospital managed to overcome the challenges of the pandemic period and can now look to future development projects with renewed enthusiasm.”
“I am stimulated by this new role – said Dr. Rossi – which I take on with a spirit of service, certain of being able to count on the skills of a team of first-rate professionals”.
Before arriving at the management of Spoleto, Rossi held positions in the medical management of the Terni hospital and among the management staff of the same hospital in Foligno.
The acting general director of the USL Umbria 2 company, Piero Carsili, in thanking Zampolini for his commitment, expressed satisfaction with the appointment of Orietta Rossi, “convinced that her strong organizational skills will provide a further impetus to improving quality of services and the modernization of the Foligno hospital”.
“The company management – stated the healthcare manager – has always paid the utmost attention to the development of this hospital reality, with the aim of creating, through the integration with Spoleto, a single hospital center of excellence, efficient and effective”.
