Earth Day, 150 guests and many events in Turin

Workshops, talks, laboratories, shows, performances and exhibitions. The program schedule of the “Earth Day Turin” which will take place Saturday 20 April, from 9am to midnight, in the wonderful setting of Royal Museums and which will give the visitor a day immersive and experiential to allow him to approach issues related to social and environmental sustainability.

The event – ​​organized and promoted in Turin by AWorld1 And Club Silencio2with the support of Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation3 – will offer over 15 hours of non-stop activities and entertainment dedicated to the environment and good green practices.

Numerous proposals entertainment which will start at 1.00 pm with the live performance of Domenico Urban Drummer (in collaboration with Iren) which will involve the audience in a one-of-a-kind musical experience, transforming unusual objects in musical instrumentscreating irresistible symphonies of rhythms and gags.

At 1.30 pm, at the Roman Theatre, Umberto Stefanelli, internationally renowned Italian photographer (in collaboration with The Unique Magazine) will present a video projection which, through images, sounds and words, will make us reflect on the need for change in our cities, now considered ‘places not places’ where today the hand of man imposes itself without reflection.

At 3.30 pm music will be the protagonist again with the incursion, in Piazzetta Reale, of the Jazz Street Parade (in collaboration with Turin Jazz Festival). The traditional New Orleans marching bandin a process of collective improvisation which includes all musical styles, from Dixieland to R&B, from cool to free, up to swing and funk, will entertain and surprise the audience present.

Next, at the Roman theatreat 4.30 pm it will be time for the showThe words of Circular Health” – promoted by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo – which will feature the virologist & Senior Fellow of Global Health at Johns Hopkins University Ilaria Capua who, for the first time in Turin, in duo with Lodo Guenziwill accompany the public on a journey through time and the words of scientific dissemination.

At the end of the day, at 6.45 pm, the theater will be transformed into an evocative stage on which the piano will stand out. Alexander Martyr, the “pianist of nature”, known for his exceptional musical projects which led him to perform in unusual and exclusive contexts. A solo piano concert that will enhance the nature of the place through exceptional compositions and during which “The future of nature” will also be played, presented in December ’23 on the occasion of Cop28 in Dubai.

At sunset, when the Mole will light up completely green, the video of the UUUUDUM performance by will be projected on the main stage Luca Lagash by Marlene Kunts, made at dawn inside theMOG Sculptural Area (Morgana Orsetta Ghini) installed in the Diversity&Inclusion Hub directed by Michele Piazza in collaboration with Sergey Prokofyev and performed using amplifiers made of natural fiber by GR Bass.

At 6.00 pm the spotlight will be turned on Royal Square to launch the message even more forcefully “A climate of change can change the climate change”. The stage, under the artistic direction of Alessandro Rocchetti4will come alive with a special live which, under the direction of Eugenio Cesaro, will also include artists Nina Zilli, Danti, Eiffel65, Ex-Otago, I Moderni, Pietro Morello and Max Casacci.
