A passerby who became aware of the violence alerted 112 and two boys from the group, one aged 20 and the other 22, are being investigated for the crime of animal cruelty. The dog was found with a wire noose around its neck. He had a bad eye and other wounds on his body. After treatment at an animal clinic in Palermo he was discharged and is in the Sambuca kennel.
