An exchange of Whatsapp messages, forced resignations and house arrest: this is what emerges from the reconstructions of the affair involving the former regional councilor of Puglia Alfonso Pisicchio. From reading the news reports relating to the interrogation of Pisicchio, a close collaborator of his arrested days ago in Bari, it is clear that the president of the Puglia Region, Michele Emiliano, a few hours before the arrest, had a WhatsApp exchange with Pisicchio, writing to him , among other things, that he learned ‘from Roman sources’ that ‘there is an old investigation against you that has regained momentum.
Gasparri (FI): “Emiliano knew in advance about Pisicchio’s arrest”
“We thought badly of Emiliano and we were wrong. Having told us that together with Decaro he would go to the house of the sister of a criminal boss in Bari, we thought that he only had bad acquaintances. Instead he must have maintained some contact with the judiciary” declares the president of the Forza Italia senators Maurizio Gasparri.
“And so Emiliano asked Pisicchio to resign, otherwise he would have revoked him – he adds -. Which he promptly did a few hours later, canceling the assignment in an important company that he had entrusted to Pisicchio. Who then, a few hours later, was arrested. Either Emiliano is a lucky prophet who predicts, without knowing it, the imminent arrests of his collaborators or he knew something. This is why we say that perhaps, in addition to hanging out with the bosses’ sisters, he still hangs out with some authoritative person who warns him. Too bad, however, it would seem that he may have had news that should be covered by secrecy. And events of this type constitute a crime.”
Legal Pisicchio: “Reexamined due to lack of precautionary requirements”
“The precautionary needs do not exist and this is why we will resort to the Review”. This was stated to LaPresse by the lawyer Salvatore D’Aluiso, trusted lawyer of Alfonsino Pisicchio, the former councilor of the Puglia Region and former commissioner of the Arts, the agency for technology and innovation, who has been under house arrest since April 10th , when the precautionary custody order signed by the investigating judge of the Bari court, Ilaria Casu, was carried out in the investigation coordinated by the prosecutor’s office of the Apulian capital. Pisicchio ended up under house arrest together with his brother Enzo and three other suspects. The hypotheses of the crime of corruption, forgery, disrupting the freedom of auctions, issuing invoices for non-existent operations and illicit financing of parties have been contested for various reasons. Pisicchio faced the guarantee interrogation on April 17th and denied the accusations.
Renzi: “The Emiliano-Pisicchio case is a double scandal”
“From the news it appears that President Emiliano was aware of a criminal investigation against Pisicchio. And from what we read Emiliano suddenly said to Pisicchio: resign or I’ll kick you out. If the facts are true, it is a double scandal. 1. Did anyone among the investigators inform Emiliano? How did Emiliano know about the investigation? 2. Emiliano uses the information received to manage political relations in Puglia. And he does it in an arrogant and violent way. Puglia will never change as long as it is governed by Michele Emiliano and those like him.” The leader of Italia Viva, Matteo Renzi, writes it on X.
