Sunday 21 April 2024 5.30pm – 7pm at the Oratory of San Nicolò “Let’s get to know each other again in Borgo Marina”. The neighborhood meets to celebrate: stories, music and food from our lands, an event dedicated to all the inhabitants of Borgo Marina, who are invited to participate.
Borgo marina is one of the oldest villages in the city of Rimini which has seen its social fabric change over the years. New ethnic and cultural identities have been added to the “historical” people of Rimini, which today make up the geography of a new coexistence. Denying the problems that inevitably arise in these cases, or simply not talking about them, means not only closing oneself off to historical changes, but above all precluding opportunities for growth and transmission of one’s values to future generations.
For this reason, together we have created an opportunity to foster knowledge between the various souls of our community: the older ones and the new ones, in terms of age and arrival, and those perhaps passing through. Thus was born the initiative of the Village that Re-Knows itself, that is, that begins a new path of mutual knowledge, exchange and communication. The idea is not to overcome differences, but rather to talk about them and help each other understand them, so that knowing becomes understanding and going beyond natural mistrust, creating together opportunities for connection and care of the spaces we share, for solving common problems. , in that reciprocity of rights and duties at the basis of community welfare.
The event is organized with the participation of the inhabitants themselves and thanks to the collaboration between Centro Accoglienza Straordinaria Cooperativa Sociale Cento Fiori, Casa Italia Cina, Bangladeshi Community of Rimini, New Neighborhood Committee Borgo Marina.
