On Tuesday 16 April, at 10:00 am, a significant meeting of the Provincial Observatory on Road Safety took place in the Council Chamber of Varese, chaired by the Prefect Salvatore Pasquariello. The event saw the participation of authorities from the Lombardy Region, institutional representatives, law enforcement agencies and local authorities. During the meeting, important data on accidents were analysed, collected thanks to the new “INC unified information tank” system, which allowed 253 accidents to be recorded in the first three months of the year, fortunately without fatal victims.
The role of the “Michele Scarponi Foundation” in promoting road safety and education on respect for the rules was also discussed, as a tribute to the tragically deceased cyclist. Furthermore, the initiative of the ACI of Varese has been brought forward which, on 25 July, on the occasion of the Varese Summer Festival, aims to raise young people’s awareness of the dangers of irresponsible driving, with an event that will combine recreational and educational moments.
Regional school projects were presented and the “ICARO” and “INCROCI” campaigns, aimed at promoting road safety and legality, were discussed. These projects represent the joint commitment of educational institutions and law enforcement agencies for a safer future on the roads.
