The school in via Ocenaia (Papanice) is reborn to new life ~ CrotoneOk.it

«It is with great satisfaction that I learn of the conclusion of the process which concerned the Public Notice for the acquisition of expressions of interest for the concession of the management for free use to Volunteer Associations of the activity of the municipal property located in Crotone, Papanice, on Via Oceania”.

With these words Antonio Megna, Government Official of Papanice, welcomes the conclusion of the process that will lead the school in via Oceania, closed for years now, to have a new life, but above all to become a social space available to the community of the populous fraction of Crotone.

«The building – continues Megna – had been closed for some time and in the past hosted the primary and nursery school in the Papanice district for many years, until a new structure was built in Viale Calabria, which led to the creation of a new school complex that hosts all the children of the neighborhood.
We tried to find solutions and prevent the property in via Oceania from remaining abandoned and undergoing natural degradation, so together with mayor Voce and councilor Antonio Scandale we decided to put it up for tender for exclusively social purposes.”

«I am very happy – concludes the Government Official of Papanice – to learn that the most representative associations of the neighborhood who perhaps for the first time have decided to unite have participated in the announcement, making a synthesis among themselves, in such a way as to present a very broad social offer to our community. I am pleased to announce that the property has been assigned, after verification of the tender operations, to a group of associations whose leader is the Confraternita di Misericordia of Papanice.
I therefore thank Governor Rino Borrelli, representing the Misericordia di Papanice, the Camminiamo Insieme Association for disabled people and the Avis Papanice section, for having taken up a great challenge such as that of recovering a property symbol of our community and allocating it to recreational and social issues that will certainly bring well-being to the community of Papanice.”
