Administrators, associations, the academic world and many citizens participated in the presentation of the book “Plan B – A score to regenerate Italy” organized in Benevento from the “Laboratory for Public Happiness” at the headquarters of the CSV Irpinia Sannio and which saw a participatory debate between the coordinator of the “Laboratory” Ettore Rossi, Angelo Moretti president of the “Salt of the Earth” Consortium and the economist Leonardo Becchettico-author of the text and promoter of the “Plan B” project.
«We wanted to present this book – he explained Rossi – for the stimulus that the contributions contained in this text have aroused in us. It is clear there is a need to reverse course, to give ourselves new directions, new attitudes and for this reason we discussed the words of the new lexicon that animates this vision”.
«Italy is ageing, it is becoming depopulated and internal areas such as that of Benevento are experiencing progressive demographic impoverishment, but there is also a democratic urgency because there is an increasing lack of voters at the polls – the complaint of Moretti -. For this reason, there is a need for a plan B to make Italians passionate about politics again and above all to reconnect a dialogical and generative relationship between rural areas and politics.”
«Our goal – he said Becchetti – is to increase the happiness and generativity of our country by carrying forward social progress and we therefore thought of giving birth to a score, a common vision that puts the theme of relationships at the center by creating tools and forms of participation for citizens, I think to energy communities, shared administration, responsible consumption.
It is therefore important to increase active citizenship to extend to all members of the community the possibilities of using the resources and services to have a dignified life.”
