There local police of Monza contested violations for 9,000 euros to three alleged illegal sellers caught selling food without authorisation. The intervention, “to combat crimes that threaten consumer safety and to comply with trade laws” saw joint patrols from food supplies, emergency services and neighbourhoods. The three people identified are Nigerian nationals, resident in Brianza, and “already known for previous similar violations” they say from the Command. Seized for administrative confiscation of approximately 500 products of food and non-food origin.

During the same operation, in the city center, the officers also arrested a street vendor who allegedly attacked the workers to escape control. The incident occurred in via Italia: two officers, during the check, stumbled upon a 35 year old of Senegalese origins, living in the province of Milanthat would have been “intended to offer various goods to passers-by”. Without documents and illegal on the national territory, the man was invited to follow them for investigations he would have pushed them to escape on foot.

After a chase through the streets of the center the 35-year-old attempted to free himself from the officers’ grip, “causing them injuries, even with a bite on the arm”as long as it was blocked by reinforcements and arrested. The arrest was validated in court and, pending the hearing, the judge ordered the man’s release from prison, an unprecedented result. The two officers involved suffered injuries for which they were transported to the emergency room.
