Vaccination clinic in Piazza Vittoria in Lodi. Next Tuesday, April 23, in the morning, the Asst takes to the field (with the collaboration of Red Cross staff) as part of World Immunization Week.

For the occasion, a medical and nursing team will be available to all citizens of Lodi from 8.30 to 12.30 with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of vaccination prevention. It will also be possible to receive the administration of anti-Pneumococcal, anti-Herpes Zoster and anti-Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis vaccines, in particular aimed at the adult population or those falling into the highest risk categories.

Over the last 50 years, thanks to global vaccination campaigns, it has been possible to eradicate diseases such as smallpox and ensure the survival of millions of children around the world; however, the risk of contracting vaccine-preventable infectious diseases is not a prerogative of childhood. «Health is a prerequisite for the development of a country, the priority objective in prevention is to be able to protect all citizens, especially the vulnerable categories. In fact, the literature highlights how the fragile population has a higher incidence of being susceptible to infections compared to the general population. Therefore, for this very reason these vaccinations are recommended for fragile people”, underlines Dr. Shilpi Sironi, head of the SC Vaccinations and Surveillance of Infectious Diseases.
