Similar experiences of conscientious objection which gave meaning to the existence of those who practiced them. On the one hand the presentation of the book A slice of heaven behind bars containing the diary from the military prison of Gaeta written in 1972 by the objector Claudio Pozzi, on the other the interactive presentation with the author Giulio di Luzio, who talks about his personal experience as a conscientious objector at the Italian Caritas of Trani in the 1980s.

10.00-12.00 Workshop organized by Amnesty International “Conflict management: steps towards the culture of consensus”, Sala della Bifora Castello, Largo Castello. The proposed workshop consists of two parts: the first dedicated to addressing the four styles of approach to conflict, the second focused on conflict management through practical activities carried out in groups. The participating people will be asked to put into practice mediation techniques for conflict resolution, and then investigate – through a practice of mindfulness – their personal approach to conflict management, focusing on the ability to manage and share their own and other people’s emotions.

In 2023, Milagro. Little prodigy of light, Don Tonino Bello’s story dedicated to the fortuitous meeting with a little girl in Argentina, has become an accessible book thanks to the translation into symbols of Augmentative Alternative Communication: a type of writing that facilitates reading by children, children and adults with cognitive disabilities or linguistic difficulties. Starting from this text and from the now unobtainable novel by Alberto Manzi, La luna nelle barracche, we take the opportunity to reflect on minors, but also on Latin America. The presentations fully fall within the theme of the festival: culture understood as non-violence, as a sign of redemption and reclamation of one’s rights.

Nazra Palestine Short Film Festival is a traveling cinema project from and about Palestine born in 2017 from the synergy of various associations, volunteers, citizens and enthusiasts of the Middle East, of cinema and in solidarity with the cause. Nazra in Arabic means “gaze”, the eye is its logo and cinema is its medium. The aim of the festival is precisely to broaden the gaze of those who know the Palestinian question and of those who want to approach it for the first times. The cinematic lens acts as a filter and at the same time an instrument of cultural resistance through which the stories of Palestinian men and women are told.

9.00 pm Concert of Cantiere Comune Mediterraneo, Largo Purgatorio.
