Rome, 20 April. (Adnkronos) – Machines that disintegrate and recycle totally green aggregates; concrete mixers that changed the history of concrete transport; devices conceived during Gic 2022 thanks to the meeting between two exhibitors, which not only become reality, but which at the next edition of the fair are rewarded for their high rate of innovation; pilot projects in the name of environmental sustainability. The Italian Concrete Days – Italian Concrete Days – main European exhibition-conference dedicated to machines, equipment and technologies for the concrete supply chain, prefabrication, demolition of reinforced concrete structures, transport and recycling of aggregates , to continuous flooring and screeds, the 5th edition of which is scheduled until 20 April 2024 at the Piacenza Expo – are also this.

“The story of the MS-60 began at the GIC two years ago”, says the Italian-Belgian Robert Pasqualotto, CEO of Masterscreed, third generation of entrepreneurs in the concrete sector, who, with his MS-60, received the award for the best innovation at Gic 2024. “We had in mind to create this large machine for the self-levelling of concrete paving not only of an industrial type and at Gic 2022 we found the Italian engineers with whom we collaborated to making it happen was a great fortune for us.”

A success story that demonstrates how the event organized by Mediapoint & exhibitions is not just a stage for the most innovative products in the sector, but a real “square” where knowledge, ideas and knowledge meet, producing innovation. How innovative and ecological is the Utm 1500, the latest innovation from Cams. “It’s a machine for breaking down and recycling material. Its peculiarity is that it is an electric machine, which can therefore work with the aid of alternative energy sources”, explains Andrea Trentini, Cams commercial director, “It processes the rubble and therefore valorises the material, breaks it down, removes the iron, selects it and, afterwards, all the material can be reused. All this while consuming practically nothing, for example by exploiting only the solar energy produced by photovoltaic panels.”

But innovation does not only concern the materials or means used by the concrete sector. The ecological transition is also achieved through process innovation, as evidenced by the circular economy project conceived by the Rec consortium, Circular Building Recovery. “Our project features over 8 thousand construction material retailers”, explains Francesco Freri, president of Rec, “who are passionate about the topic of recovery. The regulatory innovation that occurred in 2020 has defined a new legal figure, the preliminary deposit to collection, and thanks to this simplification, construction warehouses can now set up circular economy platforms within their sales points. Construction companies deliver the waste and load the material in one place. In this way we have a reduction in traffic on road and at the same time a reduction in waste abandonment”. “Ours is an innovative project – concludes Freri – because it starts from process innovation and it is a pilot project, because it has never been tested in Italy”.

In the pavilions of the Piacenza Expo there are also those, like Cifa, in addition to presenting their innovations, during this 5th edition they have decided to celebrate an important birthday: the 50 years of the “Magnum Concrete Pump”. “Invented by Cifa, it was the first vehicle that, in addition to transporting concrete, could also pump it. It is a machine suitable for areas with limited space available, or where maximum flexibility is required”, explains Marco Polastri, director of marketing, sales and after sales at Cifa. “For the occasion, at the GIC we brought our 28 meter model, called Magnum, the best-selling in Italy. Let’s say that our concrete pump has contributed to a good part of the development of private and public construction in our country”, concludes Polastri.

The Imer Group is a regular at the GIC. “This year we tried to expand our exhibition space, but we still had to make choices”, says the company’s concrete division marketing manager, Giacomo Roberto Perego. Imer’s flagship is the Gerris 800, an innovative distribution machine of concrete. “It is a tracked arm that can pass through a 90 cm door. It is electric, with a small activation even by an endo-thermal engine and allows you to work in small environments and on quite difficult terrain.” , continues Perego, who proudly concludes: “at the last Gic the Gerris was awarded an important recognition for technological innovation”.
