The Central Market turns ten and celebrates with a great free appointment in Turin and with the Exquisite Festival for a weekend of music, food and culture scheduled on 19, 20 and 21 April 2024. It starts on Friday 19 April with a big party free and open to the public which will invade Porta Palazzo and all the shops of the Turin Central Market, which will be transformed into an artistic, musical and cultural hub for the whole weekend.
Music, art photography, DJ sets, educational experiences, talks and fun events: there really is everything in the big party organized this Friday in the spaces of the Mercato Centrale Torino. He is the surprise guest of the evening Willie Peyotethe expected protagonist of the open-air show scheduled for 10.00 pm on Friday 19th outside the Mercato Centrale Torino, preceded by the music of the Bandakadabra (which will liven up the evening starting from 6.00 pm) and followed by the DJ set by Riva Starr, famous beatmaker on the international electronic music scene.
Space then, during the evening, for traveling performanceslike that of Mentalist Emanuele Spinawho will go around the tables reading the minds of Mercato’s guests, or that of the Fortune teller Alice Mastroleo aka Soloredie and the live painting of street artist of The Circle and the Drops.
On the first floor, from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm, there will be Author’s workshop of the famous photographer Settimio Benedusi, with his project Ricordi Stampati – Popular Photography, which will create a series of photographic portraits for anyone who wants to participate. The activities continue with Blind Experience organized by the experts of Essentiàlia who will accompany the participants on an olfactory journey aimed at creating their own essence.
Friday 19 April also marks the beginning of the first Central Market Exquisite Festival, created to ignite curiosity and bring out new points of view on the world of food. Created in collaboration with Linkiesta Gastronomika and Il Post, edited by Luca Sofri and Anna Prandoni, the three-day event will be divided into three sections with various names taking turns on stage including Martina Bonci, Roberta Ceretto, Elsa Fornero, Mateja Gravner, Marco Ambrosino, Marco Bianchi, Alberto Grandi, Silvio Greco, Neri Marcoré, Stefano Nazzi, Michele Serra, Walter Veltroni. Throughout the festival, the shops will be open and operational regularly to allow you to taste the various proposals present at the Turin Central Market.
