Krash Trail changes to traffic in Brisighella and Faenza

The Krash Trail 2024 running race will take place on Sunday 21 April in the municipalities of Faenza and Brisighella. To allow it to take place safely, an ordinance has been adopted which temporarily suspends traffic only when the athletes pass by. In detail, from 9 am on Sunday 21 April, limited to the time strictly necessary for the transit of the competitors in the race, in the streets involved in the route (Brisighella: via Della Fossa, P.zzetta Porta Gabolo, P.zza Guglielmo Marconi, via Degli Asini , Rocca, crossing via Rontana, Chiesa del Monticino, Via Valloni, via Rontana, Parco del Carnè, via Castelnuovo, via Vespignano, via Torre Del Marino, via Rio Chiè, via Montecchio, via Pideura and via S. Cristoforo: go Castel Raniero, via Firenze (cycle path), v.le Marconi (pedestrian), c.so Matteotti, via Torricelli, via Zuffe and via San Giovanni Bosco). Crossroads, especially on provincial roads, will be manned by civil protection personnel. During the period of temporary suspension of traffic, the transit of vehicles not following the race is prohibited in both directions of the section affected by the transit of competitors.

Solarolo, Castel Bolognese and Faenza: changes to the road system for the Giro di Romagna

The 87th Giro della Romagna PRO is at the starting line and the anticipation is increasing in an area that has been waiting for the return of one of the oldest and most prestigious classics of Italian and international cycling for thirteen years. The race will therefore start on Sunday 21 April at around 10.50am from Piazza Baracca in Lugo to head along a 196km route, largely flat and which changes altitude profile in the last 67km of the race.

The definitive startlist will be announced on Saturday 20 April at the end of the preliminary operations, on an afternoon which includes the team presentation at 5pm at the Palalumagni in Lugo as part of Sports Day.

The relaunch of the Giro della Romagna is directed by ExtraGiro, with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region – Sport Valley, the Municipality of Lugo, the Municipality of Castrocaro Terme and Terra del Sole and with the collaboration of SC Francesco Baracca di Lugo and Oliviero Gallegati . There are also numerous sponsors and partners who believe in this project, including BCC Ravennate Forlivese and Imolese | BCC Iccrea Group, Eurovo Pro Up, Hera Group, Icel, Mazzari, Technipes, Margarita, Unitec, Suzuki, Festina, Personalizzandia, Somec Biciclette, Agrentità, Diemme Filtration, GVM Assistance, Terre Cevico, Diemme Enologia, Frullà, Venieri and the Associations category Ascom Lugo, CNA Area Bassa Romagna, Confartigianato of Ravenna and Confesercenti Ravenna-Cesena.

To date, among the registered athletes, 23 Nations are represented, with the expected participation of 140 athletes and 20 teams.

One of the main news is the return to racing of Filippo Baroncini, the young cyclist from Massa Lombarda, wearing the UAE Team Emirates jersey.

Much loved by his countrymen, Baroncini was forced to stop due to injury just over a month ago at the Denain GP but now he returns and does it on his home roads.

The Emirati team also sees the talents Antonio Morgado and Isaac Del Toro Romero among the possible starters. Also on the list are Kristian Sbaragli (Corratec Vini Fantini), Filippo Fiorelli and Giulio Pellizzari (VF Group-Bardiani CSF-Faizané), Davide De Cassan, Mattia Bais (Team Polti Kometa), Iván Cobo (Equipo Kern Pharma), Mikel Bizkarra (Euskaltel -Euskadi), Walter Calzoni (Q36.5 Cycling Team), Thomas Pesenti and Matteo Malucelli (JCL Team Ukyo), as well as a combative representation of the other Continental teams.

Also worth mentioning is the initiative which will feature one of the Giro’s sponsors: GVM Assistance, a GVM Care & Research company that designs and provides innovative digital healthcare solutions.

The GVM Assistance team, which monitored astronaut Walter Villadei before and after the Ax-3 mission on the International Space Station, will launch a cardiac telemonitoring experiment with some athletes from Team Techinipes on the occasion of the Giro della Romagna PRO -Romagna captained by Davide Cassani.

The 87th Giro della Romagna is also a light that remains lit in territories affected by the 2023 flood, as well as a stage approaching the Grand Départ of the Tour de France from Italy, in the same month in which the Etape Parma by Tour de France, scheduled for Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April.
