AREZZO – The body of a 60-year-old woman was found today, 19 April 2024, in the Arno in Arezzo. The Arezzo firefighters were activated this morning by the State Police to search for a missing person. From an initial location of the cell phone, the searches focused on Buriano in Arezzo. The prefectural search plan for a missing person has been activated and 118, Carabinieri, Alpine Rescue and Civil Protection have been activated.
The Fire Brigade intervened with a team, UCL (Local Command Unit) with TAS (Topography Applied to Rescue) personnel, helicopter from Arezzo. Around 11am the Drago helicopter identified the woman’s body in the Arno river. The body was subsequently recovered by Drago and the team that responded to the scene. On site, in addition to the Fire Brigade and State Police, Alpine Rescue personnel, 118, civil protection volunteers.
