Number 46: “We’re aiming for the podium and I can’t wait to race the 24 Hours of Le Mans”
From Imola to Imola. Two years later it’s a Valentino Rossi more “mature”: “They flew… This is the track where I made my debut in the car, everything was new. It took me a while to settle into a paddock that was totally different to that of MotoGP.” Number 46 has grown a lot while driving: “I’ve improved a lot, day after day I’ve learned different trajectories compared to when I raced on a motorbike. Here in GT you literally jump over the curbs. They are different machines that need to be understood and you improve with experience “. On the Santerno circuit the 6 Hours of Wec: “There will be a lot of traffic, it is very difficult to manage the lapping of the Hypercars. In the GT World Challenge everything is wilder, here however there is more respect between the drivers. In Qatar everything went smoothly, but here it will be different.”
BMW M4 GT3 who gives guarantees to the Doctor: “It’s a very nice car to drive, it’s sincere and stable especially at fast speeds. We suffer a bit from understeer, especially in acceleration. For the race it’s really difficult to understand the values on the track, we hope to fight for the podium”. Unknown weather: “Let’s hope it’s dry because we’re not good yet in the wet, we have little grip.”
There 24 Hours of Le Mans is getting ever closer: “I can’t wait, it will be the most important race of the year. Last year in the side race I felt very good with the circuit. June will be a very intense month because in two weeks it will run both the 24 Hours of Spa and Le Mans.”
