Another weekend of sport between Emilia and Romagna. Starting from cycling, with the Giro di Romagna returning after 13 years of absence in the areas affected by the flood, the Six Nations of women’s rugby in Parma with Italy-Scotland and the Rotary Cup of sitting volleyball in Cesena – three events that return in the calendar of events supported by the Region -, up to the World Endurance Championship in Imola, awaiting the Made in Italy and Emilia-Romagna Formula 1 Grand Prix, scheduled for 18 and 19 May.

In the Bologna area, appointment on Saturday and Sunday, 20th and 21st, with the Six Hours of the World Endurance Championship, the FIA ​​WEC, at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola. Among the protagonists is the Ferrari 499p Hypercar, making its debut in Emilia-Romagna, less than a month after the return of the Made in Italy and Emilia-Romagna Formula 1 Grand Prix, on 18 and 19 May.

The other sporting events in the Region

Not just motoring. On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st, it is with the Rotary Cup national promotional sitting volleyball championship at the Cesena Exhibition Centre. A competition that is part of the three-year agreement between the Region and the Italian Volleyball Federation and which confirms the regional commitment to the promotion of all sports disciplines, including the Paralympic ones.

On Saturday 20th, at 8.45pm, the Lanfranchi stadium in Parma will host the women’s Six Nations rugby match and the Italy-Scotland match, which follows the one against England on 23 March, and is part of the collaboration between the Region and the Italian Rugby Federation. An important comparison for the rankings: the final placing in third place in the women’s Six Nations guarantees direct qualification for the 2025 Rugby World Cup which will be played in England.

On Sunday 21st cycling will be the protagonist, with the 87th edition of the Giro di Romagna, from Lugo (RA) to Castrocaro Terme (FC). An important return after the last edition of 2011 and a further opportunity for visibility for the flooded municipalities, in the year of the Great Departure of the Tour de France.
