A hacker attack carried out yesterday, 18 April, sent the systems of SynLab, a diagnostic center which also operates in the province within some sampling points, into a tailspin and, as reported The Echo of Bergamoin the Don Orione Center, in Bergamo.
“As a precaution – we read in the note published on the company’s social channels – as soon as the attack was identified and in accordance with company IT security procedures, all company IT systems in Italy were immediately deactivated”.
Consequently causing disruptions yesterday morning, Thursday 18 April. “The company – continues the note – promptly established a task force, made up of internal and external professionals, and is working to mitigate the impacts and restore its systems as soon as possible, in collaboration with the competent authorities”.
Due to the current situation, SynLab reports, all activities in the sampling points, medical centers and laboratories in Italy (including Bergamo) remain suspended until further notice, including downloading and collecting reports. «SybLab apologizes for the inconveniences resulting from the situation described above and informs that it is currently unable to establish when operations can be restored».
However, the company has informed that it will update users on the developments of the situation, again through its social channels.
