The 112 call left nothing to the imagination and required a prompt response from the police. “There is a thief in the house”, this – in broad terms – was the request forwarded to the switchboard that handles emergency calls this morning (Friday 18 April).
And the police intervention was lightning fast. The agents of the Steering Wheels department were already practically under the house in Piazzale Arnaldo, in Brescia, where the attempted theft was taking place: they were, in fact, engaged in policing the Fridays for Future event.
In a few moments the officers reached the house and stopped the thief who had tried to take advantage of the crowded square to hide among the demonstrators, sneak into a building and try to pull off the heist. It went very badly for him: after the face-to-face meeting with the owner of the house he didn’t really have time to get away. The criminal was arrested, red-handed, and then taken to the police station for investigations and checks of the case.
