Launching from April 22nd the first phase of interventions for the redevelopment and functional reorganization of the former Astoria Cinema, a historic place in the city of Rimini. With an investment of 500 thousand euros, this phase of work includes a set of safety measures and adaptation of the systems which will last a total of six months. A series of actions which, in parallel, aim to consolidate the transformation already underway of the former Cinema Astoria into a real social and cultural hub of the area in its function as a meeting place suitable for hosting performances, artistic workshops, events, workshops and much more. Specifically, these interventions will concern the implementation of some adjustments to the electrical and fire detection systems, as well as specific construction works in the foyer area on the ground and first floors. Substantial renovations will also be carried out on the electrical and fire detection systems of the small room on the ground floor, with modifications to the seating. As regards the exterior, the completion of the consolidation of the facades, as well as the ramps and stairs is expected. The works will be carried out by the Elettro Service company of Ambrosone Michele di Asti which will take care of the operational phases, guaranteeing high standards and compliance with current regulations. “With this project – underlines the Municipality in a note – we aim to regenerate and configure the former Astoria Cinema as a dynamic and inclusive space, strengthening its bond with the city community and its vocation as a community place.
