Second arch under the bridge, there is the final project
Work will start in May
NEPI – (AS) Second arch under the Nepi bridge, the project is there and work will start soon. In the city of mineral waters, progress is being made quickly on the construction of public works. Four roundabouts have just been completed and the last one, the one that will be built at the intersection between Nepesina and Sutrina, will soon see the light. In the meantime, the administration led by Mayor Franco Vita is carrying out a further, important road project, linked to the construction of the second arch under the Nepi bridge. The project with its technical solution has just been approved by the superintendency, and the procurement contract was signed last week before the municipal secretary. ‘The director of the works – says Vita – having completed the legal formalities, will begin the execution of the work probably in the month of May. The Municipality’s design also includes two side walkways reserved for pedestrians, which the Superintendence reserved the right to authorize during the works.
The process associated with starting work under the bridge was quite long and tortuous. In 2022 the mayor announced financing of around 800 thousand euros for its construction with Pnrr funds. Consequently, the Municipality prepared the design, which also included the presence of two side walkways. Walkways that the Superintendence rejected, as they were deemed ‘inappropriate’ considering the presence of the Borgia Fort. There was a further stop in the reworking of the project due to the appointment of a new designer who became necessary to replace the first engineer in charge.
Once the critical issues have been overcome, it will be possible to proceed to the initial phase of the works, for which traffic regulation is also envisaged.
In the meantime, with the motto ‘safety, development and improvement’, the administration announces the recent ‘successes’ achieved in public works, crowning the electoral campaign which sees Mayor Vita re-present himself in the upcoming municipal elections: ‘After having purchased the other part of the Borgia Castle – Vita reiterates – we have allocated 250 thousand euros (not bruscolini) for the disinfestation of the herbaceous plants and their safety. Furthermore, we are preparing a request for an extraordinary contribution to recover the walls and make the large spaces of the castle usable. Finally, I would like to inform you that the car park in Via Termolarte which has just been completed includes 25 more parking spaces, which will help reduce parking on the sides of the road which is difficult for traffic. The inauguration will take place tomorrow
