In Foggia there is the Nerd Festival, from Cristina to the Cosplay competition and the Le Stelle di Hokuto concert

Foggia. The eighth edition of the Nerd Festival will take place in Foggia on 4 and 5 May, an event that has now become traditional for fans of comics and games from all over Italy.

The event, which for this edition will be held in the central area of ​​the city, is organized by the ‘Festival del Nerd’ Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Foggia, with the support of Covo del Nerd, the Gulliver Comics School of Foggia, the University of the Studies of Foggia and Polo Biblio Museale of Foggia.

After the presentation on Tuesday in the council room of Palazzo di Città, which was attended by the mayor Maria Aida Episcopo, the councilor for culture Alice Amatore, Stefano Santangelo among the founders of the event, the artistic director Giuseppe Guida, the coordinator of the activities of the Polo Biblio Museale Francesca Capone, the head of the Cinema Area Alessandro Guida and the president of the Festival del Nerd association Rocco Scotellaro, here is the program, very articulated and varied: many expected guests and surprises foreseen between the different areas (comics, games , cinema, animation, cosplay).

We highlight some of the most important events, starting from the most awaited gem, the Cristina D’Avena concert which will be held on the evening of Sunday 5 May in Piazza Giordano from 9pm; but on the same day, also worth mentioning is the live performance of Moses and Pagnotta, the Cosplay competition and the concert of Le Stelle di Hokuto.

As for the comics area, the appointment scheduled for Saturday morning at the Palazzetto dell’arte Andrea Pazienza with the director and cartoonist Alessandro Rak, one of the super guests of this edition, is awaited. On the same day, but in the Gesù and Maria Room there will be the presentation of the publication 7 Crimini, published by Tunuè, and immediately after a meeting with the designer Antonio Muscatiello and Vladimiro Garofalo of Il Mondo di Diabolik.

Also worth highlighting are the meetings coordinated by some professors from the University of Foggia, including the one on “International law in Marvel comics”, and the official presentation of the magazine “Mine vaganti”.

This edition will also see the presence of numerous stands whose managers will come from all over Italy and which will offer sector enthusiasts the opportunity to purchase and discover many products from the nerd world, comics, gadgets, action figures and much more.
The exhibition of the designers Elena Casagrande and Carmine di Giandomenico will be an absolute exclusive at the Modern Art Gallery of Palazzo Dogana, while at the Palazzetto dell’Arte there will be an exhibition of the works of Luca Maresca, author of the edition’s poster. 2024,
