Monza and Brianza, Guardia di Finanza: meetings continue with schools in the province, also focusing on supervision of the gaming and betting sector

The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Monza, in synergy with theTerritorial School Office of Monza and Brianzais completing the series of meetings with the fourth and fifth classes of secondary schools in the Brianza area, with a view to promoting the culture of legality, the diffusion of basic constitutional principles, as well as to illustrate the institutional tasks entrusted to the Financial Police.

The meetings, which began last November, continued involving the Institutes “G. Meroni” by Lissone, “L. Milani” of Meda, “A. Mapelli” of Monza, “Majorana” by Desio, “Primo Levi” of Seregno, “Carlo Porta” of Monza, “A. Modigliani” by Giussano, “I. Versari” by Cesano Maderno, “M. Bassi” of Seregno, “M. Bianchi” of Monza, “United Europe” of Lissone and “Bianconi College” of Monza, where the Fiamme Gialle of the Monza Group and of the Seregno and Seveso Companies, in the presence of approximately 1,000 studentsdescribed the service actions aimed at combating tax evasion, tax avoidance and fraud, crimes relating to public spending and economic-financial crime.

In this context, on the occasion of the anniversary of 250 years of history of the Corps – founded in 1774 – the meaning of the was also outlined celebratory motto “The future in tradition”, which describes the essence and projection of the Guardia di Finanza, which, anchored to its founding values ​​and traditions, is able to innovate and reposition itself professionally also through increasingly advanced tools and equipment, thanks to its men and women who , yesterday as today, dedicate their best energies to serving the country.

Having gathered the concrete interest and active collaboration of the teaching staff and students, during the meetings we discussed how to:

– increase the awareness of their role as citizens, holders of rights and duties that also affect the economic plan;

– raise awareness among young people about the “convenience” of the value of economic-financial legality, to be appreciated not for fear of the related sanctions, but for its usefulness, from an individual and social perspective;

– illustrate the role and i tasks of the Financial Police, in order to stimulate greater awareness of the delicate role played by the Corps, as a police body on the citizens’ side, to protect economic freedoms;

– increase in adolescents the awareness of the consequences of their actions, through concrete examples found in daily life regarding activities actually completed in the field of counterfeiting, organized commercial illegal activityprotection of Made in Italy and product safety, supervision of the gaming and betting sector, illicit trafficking, including the use and dealing of narcotic substances.

During the meetings, space was also left for moments of participatory debate, as well as the illustration of the competitions announced by the Financial Police for admission to the Academy courses, the Inspectors and Superintendents School and the Financial Students School, highlighting the opportunities offered by them.
