Juve, Luvumbo bogeyman for Allegri. But Cagliari suffers from placed places…
Descriptive text here

Not an easy trip for one Juventus who tries to close the season in the best possible way. In fact, in front of them the Bianconeri will find a Cagliari in search of the points necessary to secure salvation. The Sardinians are coming off a positive run of three matches, during which they recorded two draws (against Verona and Inter) and one victory (over Atalanta). From a tactical point of view Claudio Ranieri confirms himself as a pragmatic coach. In fact, this season the Roman coach has often changed the outfit of the rossoblù, using the four-man and five-man defense indifferently. Against Juventus, therefore, Ranieri could resort to a line with three central defenders, without however excluding the possibility of an alignment with Dossena next to Mina, accompanied by two full-backs.

Luvumbo bogeyman

In general the Cagliari remains an eleven that prefers the control of spaces to that of the ball (with 42.2% on average the rossoblù possession is higher only than that of Udinese) and then starts again in the open field exploiting the speed of its most advanced references, starting from Zito Luvumbo. The PPDA index (a pressing meter) is one of the highest in Serie A (16.4), confirming Ranieri’s desire to let others play the game and then act as a throw-in. Returning to Luvumbo, the Angolan has so far scored 4 goals in the twenty-five matches played but has recorded 5 assists, testimony to his ability to associate with his teammates. The Sardinian team often looks for his number 77, then goes to accompany him with the other member of the attack department (Eldor Shomurodov or Gianluca Lapadula) and with additional men in support such as the various Gianluca Gaetano or Matteo Prati. Cagliari therefore does not overturn the front only with the attackers, but tries to accompany their action with as many men as possible, so as not to leave their attacking ends isolated. In this sense, the Cagliari maneuver is extremely vertical and direct. It is no coincidence that the boys of Ranieri they are the last team in the top flight in terms of average attacking action time (7.42sec.) and among the last in terms of number of passes per offensive sequence (2.77).
