CAMPOBASSO – Today is a special day for Carmine Peccia and his family. “Nonno Carmine” (Mino for everyone) celebrates 100 years and joins the many centenarians of Molise.
Carmine, born in Cantaloupe but from Campobasso at heart, has gathered around himself and his wife Tina, the whole family: his daughter, Annacolomba with her husband Niccolò, his three grandchildren, Maika, Nico and Carmine, his great-grandchildren Victoria, Nora and Nicola as well as the “grandchildren” Mike, Alessia and Daniela, to celebrate it.
A life, his, lived fully. Born in Cantalupo nel Sannio, at a very young age he took part in the Second World War and was taken prisoner in Germany. After the liberation he married and in the mid-1950s he emigrated to the United States where he started a family-run business. The nostalgia for Italy and his homeland, however, convinced him after twelve years to return to his homeland. Upon returning to Italy he worked as a financier at the customs of the port of Naples. Having concluded his career as a financier, having in the meantime become a surveyor, he was hired at the Land Registry Offices of the Municipality of Isernia.
Interested in technology, at the age of 80, he definitively abandoned the “faithful” typewriter to successfully try his hand at using the PC, then the smartphone and the tablet which he still uses today.
He has always been passionate about football and a great fan of the Campobasso team, following all their matches, going to the stadium to cheer when possible.”Go Wolves”.
Carmine, former Marshal of Finance, will be celebrated today 19 April 2024with a formal ceremony organized byTOassociation Noational Folder thanTHEtaly, Campobasso section, of which he has always been a member, which will be held at the headquarters of the Molise Regional Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Campobasso.
