ROVIGO – Sensational weekend for the Rovigo Skating Club involved in the inter-regional racing sector championship in the road phase, achieving second place in the club rankings in both the youth and major categories.
The regional youth championship was held on Saturday 13 April in Spinea with twenty athletes accompanied by the couple of coaches Alberto Ponzetto and Mattia Diamanti with a regional title won in the very young by Dario Previato, first in the combined ranking which summarizes the results of the three races held (50 meter sprint in the lane, short race and long race) and ran together with Alessandro Galuppo and Ulisse Tamiazzo, while in females it has taken to the track Marta Negrello. Among the Beginners, the performances of Mattia Saccoman, Milo Schiesaro, Matilde Cocchieri, Anita Grandi, Alice Visentin, Anna Marangoni, Vittoria and Francesca Balaustra, Ada Oprea, Claudia Saccardin, Cristal Meo, Matilde Cibin, Sofia Scarinzi, Lucia Veronese, Viola Imbevaro, Angelica Zanotto.
On Sunday 14th April the event will be held in Menà di Castagnaro the categories from boys 12 to Masters competed, with truly satisfying results. In Boys 12, gold for Davide Zambon in the 200 meters sprint, bronze for Ettore Barettagrowing Alessandro Franceschetti especially in the longer distances, sixth in the 2,000 meters with points. In females of the same age, Giorgia Pigato confirms the trend of results in the distance, first in the 2,000 meters with points, second Aurora Gabbanwithout forgetting the performance of Aurora Meo, Sofia Venturini, Agdid Wissal and Gemma Fusaro. Great result also for Sebastiano Schiesarosecond in the 3,000 meters in points for the Boys category with confirmations also from Leonardo Zanirato, Nadir Agdid, Lorenzo Marangoni, Gianmaria Bergamin and Mattia Roccato. Then the placement in the team sprint was excellent with the pair taking bronze Schiesaro-Zambon.
Regional title then for Anna Vallin who in the long race took the lead in the 3,000 in points. The green and blue standard bearer then ran with Mariasole Visentin, Giorgia Borella, Viola Ronconi, Giorgia Girardi, Matilda Morello, Martina Negri, Francesca Maria Biston. In the Allieve, podium missed in the 5,000 meters with points from Asia Pigato, came fourth, who ran with her teammates Elena Ponzetto, Isabel Dobreva and Ester Fagan.
The pair placed fifth in the team sprint Pigato-Ponzetto. Jubilation in the Seniors. Triple regional title for Giuseppe Bramante, gold in the short and long races and in the team sprint race together with Giacomo Mazza. Third was the other pair formed by the brothers Matteo and Giacomo Bernabei, the latter then placed second and fourth respectively in the sprint lap. Finally, Giacomo Mazza finished fifth and seventh in the two further tests. In the Seniors Elisa Berto did well, and bronze in the team sprint for Gaia Lissandron and Yasmine Spadaathletes who compete at the highest levels of the category.
“It was an excellent regional championship – comments coach Luca Presti following the Rovigo club assisted by Alberto Ponzetto – which sees us in a good state and team spirit, we have proven to be a group that is constantly growing and this is demonstrated by the large number of podiums that we have climbed with so many athletes. I am happy with this result and we are also working to bring the other athletes to medals”.
The next competitive event will be next weekend with the track phase of the regional championship for the youth categories, Sunday 21st in Marghera, while the major categories will compete in San Giorgio delle Pertiche on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April.
