ANCONA – It’s called Universe 2024 – Inner chaos the new exhibition which starts on May 3rd (from 6pm) at the Magazzino Muse in Ancona, in via degli Aranci. The gallerist James Castelli and the founder of the Magazzino, Maria Antonietta Scarpari, will therefore bring to the stage the works of nationally renowned photographers and the most promising emerging photographic voices on the Ancona scene.

“Through Universe 2024 – Inner chaos visitors will be able to immerse themselves incontemporary photographic artwhere visual storytelling explores the intimate connection between the macrocosm of the external universe and the microcosm of our internal chaos”, explain the organizers.

The exhibition offers a reflection deep on the duality of human existence, between cosmic stillness and the emotional storms that characterize our interiority. The Muse Warehouse, which hosted events of great cultural importance for Ancona, mostly dedicated to painting such as Imprints of the Present And The Visionaries: Women in Contemporary Arttherefore confirms its role as catalyst culturalpromoting photography as a new exploratory horizon within its exhibition space.

How important is photography in today’s age? We ask Maria Antonietta Scarpari. To which he replies: «The photo as advertising or as art? We need to distinguish. On the one hand, photography continues to be important for advertising, because the consumer, for example, wants and must see the product he buys. And they exist very good photographers advertisers. Which sometimes also have the gift of art within them – he reflects –. While for art photography, I think there is a new importance, precisely because you have to differentiate yourself from this sea of Images that overwhelm us, inebriate us, confuse us and they oppress. A true photographer must be able to bring our soul back to a dimension of essence, of deep contact with reality. A good professional must be able to cancel out the photographic chatter of images we have and bring us back to the essence, introducing a form of silence and beauty.”

There will even be exhibitors photographers who build their cameras with their own hands, who conserve and take care of them. Among these, also amateurs. Just to name a few: Giancarlo Magazzú, Umberto Romagnoli, Andrea Colarieti, Ivan Cacchioni, Giulia Proietti, Aneta Malinowska, Francesco Lupo, Andrea Cittadini, Alessio Vissani, Tatiana Cardellicchio, Gino Gentile, Claudia Sisti, Simona Boldreghini, Enrico Cocuccioni, Antonio Calosci, Lello D’Anna, Bobo Antic, Carlo Zoppi, Vito Sforza, Federica Romagnoli, Sante Castignani, Adriano Maffei, Giampiero Barchiesi and Vincenzo Russo.

On the same day as the vernissage, the photographers will create one special photo shoot dedicated to femininitywhich will then be presented to the public during the inauguration itself. James Castellico-curator of the exhibition, expresses enthusiasm for this new artistic adventure: «With this exhibition – he specifies – we tackle a different art form, photography, demonstrating the fact that culture can and must constantly expand and renew itself. The selected works are windows open onto the depths of the human soul, bridges between the visible and the invisible that invite a personal exploration of feelings and perceptions.”

This new event is part of the numerous exhibitions presented by Castelli in recent months, including the Giorgio della Monica exhibition in Albano Laziale (which began on 13 April), and the further events planned in the coming weeks, such as the highly anticipated exhibition of Michelino Iorizzo at Villa Bertelli (Forte dei Marmi, from 4 May to 4 June). The invitation from the Magazzino is addressed to «all art enthusiasts, critics and the public to immerse themselves in this unique experience, which promises to be truly a visually exciting journey». The exhibition will be open to visitors until May 19th.
