The Porta Sant’Andrea district will participate in the local festival of the Red Rione of Faenza, the “Pilgrim Festival”, now in its eighteenth edition, sponsored by the Municipality of Faenza and included among the historical events of the Emilia-Romagna Region, scheduled from 19 to 21 April, with varied events and many collaborations, for a party that becomes a moment of aggregation for the district and the Romagna city.

The green-and-white district, linked to Rosso di Faenza by a friendship lasting more than fifty years, he will be present Saturday 20 April to an extraordinary event of musicians and flag-wavers. There will be around twenty members who will make up the delegation of via Gagliarde, led by the rector Maurizio Carboni, the vicar rector Gianni Sarrini, the chancellor Saverio Crestini, who will be among the speakers of a conference, and the president of the Youth Committee Carlo Alberto Nocentini.

Applaud for bringing together the Rione Rosso district the world of the flag in Faenza with over 150 participants who will perform in Piazza del Popolo: in fact, on April 20th, the first non-competitive event will take place with some of the major historical groups of flag-wavers and musicians from Italian cities, but not only, entitled “The flag in the world”.

For the event, the flag-wavers of the Uffizi of Florence, the flag-wavers of the city of Narni, the flag-wavers of Assisi, the Petroniani flag-wavers of Bologna, the flag-wavers of the Rioni di Cori, the flag-wavers and musicians of the San Marino Crossbowmen Federation and some flag-wavers will arrive in the city. of Schwäbisch Gmünd, the German city twinned with Faenza.

The groups will form a record team of over 150 participants, also made up of the Faenza districts and a representation of the Porta Sant’Andrea district, who will leave the Rione Rosso headquarters at around 3pm to head towards Piazza del Popolo, the main square of Faenza, where they will perform first individually and then in a single collective moment. In fact, each group will have a few minutes to give an example of their school after which all the participants will gather in the setting of Piazza del Popolo. The Arezzo delegation will be made up of thirteen people in costume, together with managers and district officials,

At the end the historical procession will walk towards the International Ceramics Museum where, at 5pm, the conference will be held “History and tradition of the flag”, during which the representatives of the groups and cities mentioned above will tell the story of their flagship school. They will also speak during the conference Riccardo Manganelli which will bear witness to the history and uses of the flag in Siena, and Saverio Crestini, green and white manager and author of the book “The rebirth of the Saracino” and a profound connoisseur of the Arezzo carousel and its flag-wavers and musicians.
