The Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi will be in Varese on June 21st on the occasion of the National Regatta “Rowing in Freedom”: a relevant presence for a social event of primary importance for the project financed by Sport and Healthwith funds coming from the Department for Sport of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and developed in close collaboration with the Department of Juvenile and Community Justice.
The goal that is being achieved is to introduce rowing to “minors and young adults in the care of Juvenile Justice services and social service offices for minors” (with criminal measures) and all minors with civil measures, i.e. those measures ordered by the Court for minors in civil proceedings with protection purposes.
Another very important event for Varese rowing which is confirmed increasingly a point of reference for rowing international and, obviously, national. They will participate in the regatta 22 crews (10 more than the 2023 “Remare in Libertà” regatta in Turin) representing 8 regional Committees/Delegations. The number of registered crews is an even more important result considering that, compared to last year’s regatta, this time only project participants will board the boat (excluding the helmsman).
