«D’Agostino away from Mercogliano, gypsy». The city of Mercogliano wakes up with the walls of the town covered with some offensive messages addressed to the president ofAvellino footballas well as mayor of Montefalcione and candidate in the next European elections among the ranks of Forza Italia, Angelo D’Agostino.
Several posters were displayed in the town, in Piazza Municipio and in other streets. On the poster, D’Agostino’s photo dressed as a harlequin and a sharp message.
One was placed on the entrance door of the city building. It was the municipal employees, when the offices opened this morning, who found the poster, which was immediately removed.
Having been notified of the incident, the mayor of Mercogliano, Vittorio D’Alessio, immediately informed the police at the local station. Investigations are ongoing.
The tricolor band of the town on the slopes of Partenio has always been linked to President D’Agostino.
The imminent electoral campaign that is about to get underway could also be behind the gesture.
In fact, next June 9th, the citizens of Mercogliano they will be called to vote for the renewal of the city council and the election of the new mayor. In addition to the outgoing D’Alessio, the former mayor is currently a candidate Massimiliano Carulloclose to the centre-right positions.
