agreement Federalberghi Veneto, Regalgrid and Intesa Sanpaolo

An important agreement was signed in recent days between Federalberghi Veneto, the trade association most representative of hospitality businesses, the Regalgrid Group, active in the green economy sector and in particular in the digitalisation of energy, and Intesa Sanpaolo, among the most important local banks. The objective of the agreement, which will be in force until 31 December 2025, is to accompany the hotel businesses associated with Federalberghi Veneto – around 2,500 structures distributed in 16 territorial associations – on the path towards the green transition, greater environmental sustainability as a strategic regional tourism brand, and an always ready competitiveness on the markets.

Renewables, new challenge for hotels: agreement between Federalberghi Veneto, Regalgrid Group and Intesa Sanpaolo

An important agreement – explains the president of Federalberghi Veneto Massimiliano Schiavon – which gives entrepreneurs the tools to undertake technological investments that project us into the future, in the name of environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility. It is not just a question of installing photovoltaic panels and creating an energy community: it is a cultural revolution for which we cannot and must not be unprepared. I thank Regalgrid and Intesa Sanpaolo for this synergy of action that will help companies transform themselves by innovating”.

This agreement is a great opportunity for the growth of accommodation facilities in the area – comments Francesca Nieddu, regional director of Veneto Est and Friuli Venezia Giulia Intesa Sanpaolo (in the photo) – By investing in renewable energy, businesses can improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions and be more attractive to tourists who choose environmentally friendly establishments. Furthermore, they will be able to access our S-Loan CER financing, benefiting from a discount on the interest rate and further rewards in the event that the company allocates part of the energy produced and not self-consumed to the Renewable Energy Community. Furthermore, we have made a 120 billion euro program available to businesses until 2026 for investments in favor of sustainable competitiveness”.

The agreement has significant relevance for the territory because it will allow the initiatives that will be born to have a coordinated structure and vision to support them, with structured partners attentive to the needs of companies – says Elisa Baccini, CEO of Regalgrid Europe –. Creating a community, in fact, also means avoiding dispersion of opportunities, aggregating users in studied and organized projects, while enhancing the seasonality of consumption that distinguishes the hotel sector. In this, Regalgrid® technology will be made available to optimize not only energy exchanges, but to digitalize processes and to offer new, innovative services to companies that want to offset CO2 emissions and reduce energy costs by introducing virtuous paths in the field ESG in line with the evolution of European directives”.

In concrete terms, with this agreement, the model of the Regalgrid Group will be supported and facilitated, which includes three strategic partners: Regalgrid Europe Srl, Cogenera Italia Srl and B-CER Srl Società Benefit. The first is a company based in Treviso (TV) founded in 2016 with the aim of developing a sustainable, advanced and innovative renewable energy management system through the combination and coordination of hardware from different manufacturers for the exchange and optimization of energy flows. The broader objective is the use of the Regalgrid® platform in the projects that will be developed, in order to bring new advantages for consumers and energy producers. Cogenera Italia, a Regalgrid Group company, is a consultant and technical, financial and management partner for projects implemented along the entire renewable energy sector supply chain. It creates and manages photovoltaic systems according to the “as a service” model. B-CER, a subsidiary of the Regalgrid Group, is the licensee of Regalgrid® technology, covers every phase of the establishment of an energy community and provides services aimed at CACER, i.e. Self-Consumption Configurations for the Sharing of Renewable Energy.

The partners support the importance of establishing Renewable Energy Communities (CER) in the area. There are several advantages: on an environmental level, CERs reduce CO2 emissions and the so-called “carbon footprint”; at a community level, they create new virtuous networks that lead to the creation of smart cities and smart grids; at network level, they allow optimizing the installation of new photovoltaic generation without creating imbalances and inefficiencies. CERs also offer new opportunities to new players and, consequently, determine new business models and job opportunities. All this is confirmed by the inclusion of energy communities within the Milleproroghe Decree, a step forward towards achieving the objectives of the 2030 Agenda: by that date, in fact, more than 70% of electricity in Italy will have to come from renewables.

Federalberghi Veneto, the Regalgrid Group and Intesa Sanpaolo, through the signed agreement, intend to accompany the associated hotel companies, with dedicated tools and initiatives, in the process aimed at encouraging greater investments in sustainability. The Regalgrid Group, thanks to consolidated experience in the field, will accompany entrepreneurs who wish to seize this opportunity by providing assistance in the administrative management of interventions and technological support. This will also give companies the opportunity to be more competitive on the market, significantly lowering energy costs. In parallel, Intesa Sanpaolo will make dedicated solutions available to associated companies to encourage investments in renewable energy and ESG dynamics. Furthermore, Intesa Sanpaolo recently launched the “Your future is our business” program, which makes 120 billion euros available to businesses until 2026 for investments in favor of sustainable competitiveness, with interventions to support the implementation of the objectives set in the PNRR for which the Group has allocated over 410 billion euros, as announced by CEO Carlo Messina. The memorandum of understanding was signed by: President Massimiliano Schiavon for Federalberghi Veneto; for Intesa Sanpaolo Francesca Nieddu, regional director of Veneto Est and Friuli Venezia Giulia and Cristina Balbo, regional director of Veneto Ovest and Trentino Alto Adige; for the Regalgrid Group Elisa Baccini, managing director of Regalgrid Europe and B-CER, Vincenzo Scotti managing director of Cogenera Italia. Finally, the parties agreed to organize a meeting at least every six months to verify the progress of any territorial projects.
