Gianni Indino, president of the Agro-Food Center of Rimini, was a guest at the May Day celebrations at the Elysée in Paris, also in the presence of Prime Minister Macron.
“A great satisfaction – says Indino – and a very important prestigious opportunity to build relationships and meet the highest French officials, starting with President Emmanuel Macron, with whom I spoke on the sidelines of the event by inviting him to the WUWM, the world conference of wholesale markets which will be held in Rimini from 30 October to 1 November, organized together with the Italmercati and Emilia Romagna Mercati business networks”.
Indino thanks for the invitation “The president of the conference, Stéphane Layani” and reveals that he spoke to Macron in Italian: “Language he knows well. And she appreciated the invitation, as she knows Rimini very well”.
The president of the CAAR highlights that in France the wholesale fruit and vegetable markets are held in strong consideration by the institutions: the mayor of the Paris Municipality, Anne Hidalgo, has underlined several times the vital force of these structures and the fundamental importance they have for the entire agricultural product trade chain, from local markets to small neighborhood shops, up to restaurants, hotels and all tourist activity.
“It’s unfortunate though – Indino remarks – that in Italy the same attention is not always paid to agri-food markets. We will continue to work on it.”
