One of the most dangerous and wanted criminals in the State of New York, in the top twelve of the ‘most wanted’, was found with three knives (twenty centimeters each) in St. Peter’s Square last April 10th, very crowded for the general audience of the Pope. The news was reported by Repubblica, which explains that the man was noticed by the Vatican inspectorate police. “The officers, without knowing who he was, thanks also to their intuition, never took their eyes off him, not even for a second, until they decided to stop him and, finally, search him”, underlines the newspaper, explaining that the man had “three knives” on him.

The 54-year-old man, Moises Tejada, explained to the magistrates who ordered his arrest that he arrived from the Ukrainian front, at war against the Russians: he has been fighting since February 2022 alongside Kiev’s soldiers. He is accused of illegal possession of weapons and resistance. In the USA, Tejada is on the wanted list because he was allegedly responsible for kidnapping real estate agents, beating them and then leaving them in their underwear, and is “classified as extremely violent” by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision’s Office of Special Investigations. The mystery remains regarding the reasons for the “trip” to the capital before his arrest in front of Pope Francis.
